Ladies are always on the lookout for appropriately designed gear for their expeditions. DSG Outtterwear offers women’s outdoor and hunting gear, and they’re contnually adding to their line.
In preparation for upland hunting I’d ordered a DSG Outerwear Women’s Upland Hunting Vest 2.0, which arrived while I was away, teaching at She Never Quit (more about that in a future post). One thing you’ll notice when you order from DSG is that their packaging is terrific. The vest came double-bagged, with a tissue liner and on a teal colored hanger.
The size options for the vest were combined, Small/Medium, Large/X-Large, and XX-Large/XXX-Large, so I was concerned about how the item would fit petite, little, ol’ me. When I pulled the vest out to try it on it did look a bit large. I put it on and zipped up to see how the vest felt. It fits! Yes, it’s a bit large when I’m only in my Voormi Women’s Long Sleeve Baselayer Crew, but when we’re hunting in the cold winter months I’ll need to apply layers beneath the vest, so it’s appropriately sized!
The vest comes in a Grey/Blaze Orange color combination, which is appropriate for upland. It has a large YKK front zipper, which ran smooth. There are velcro flap covers on ammo pockets, which are large enough to hold a box of ammo, but inside the pockets are ammo loops. There are two large open pockets in the chest area, and loops to hook your GPS remote or lanyards. The quilted padding in the shoulder area is minimal, so if you’re one who’s worried about sore shoulders, you may want to get a shoulder recoil pad as well. In the back is a large game pouch. I’m excited to give this vest a try.
Something else that came this week is a press release about new vests from DSG that you may want to check out as well.
Madison, WI – DSG Outerwear has been raising the bar for great-fitting, functional and size-inclusive apparel that gives serious female hunters a competitive edge in the field.
