Introducing the Ladies Adventure Camp Experience (LACE)! Together with LACE, women of all experience levels will have the opportunity to fish and hunt with experts in the field. The program also incorporates established vendors from across the country who will provide fishing rods or guns for hunting.

The LACE program kicks off 2018 with a fishing program on the White River in Arkansas with David Capps of Fisherman’s Lodge, who has been guiding fishing trips on the White River for 30 years. That epic adventure will be followed by a spring turkey hunt, guided by Olympic Biathlete, Lanny Barnes and yours truly. If you can’t make either of those events, check the calendar for a fall hog hunt, and winter elk hunt.

Foundation Sponsor, Smith & Wesson, will provide loaner equipment at each LACE event so that hunters can “try before they buy.” Ladies need only arrive at camp with the recommended attire and prepared to learn a lot and have fun.

In 2004, when Deb Ferns and Kay Miculek started “Babes with Bullets…Women’s Action Shooting Camps”, it was the first shooting academy in the world to cater specifically to women, where all of the instructors were female national and world champions. Fourteen years later, Deb has created another women’s program: the Ladies Adventure Camp Experience (LACE).

“I didn’t start hunting until my mid-50’s, and for years, have wanted to see more women mentoring other women in both hunting and fishing adventures. LACE is one of my long-time dreams coming to life!”
— Deb Ferns, Co-Founder & Camp Director, Babes with Bullets

LACE is an excellent way for the novice or experienced outdoorswoman to join in the unique experience of being on an adventure with other women. Check it out at and if you have questions reach out to Deb by email at
