Leftover Big-Game Licenses Up for Grabs | Colorado

If you weren’t successful, or if you missed the draw, for a big-game hunting license in Colorado, leftovers are now available.

The remaining limited big-game licenses are up for grabs this year starting at 9 a.m. MDT on August 2. For more information on the types of licenses that will be available and tips for purchasing a license, please visit Colorado Outdoors online!

While the draw application deadline is always the first Tuesday in April, leftover ay is the first Tuesday in August each year. This gives you the opportunity to take a shot at any big game hunting licenses remaining after the primary and secondary draws. Over-the-counter licenses for elk, bear, archery pronghorn, and whitetail deer also go on sale at the same time.

“Licenses go on sale online, over the phone, and in person at CPW offices and sales locations all at once,” says CPW. “If you’re on a computer or mobile device at home, you have the same shot as someone first in line at a sales location. Limited licenses are first come, first served, and this is the first opportunity to get a big game hunting license outside of the draw process.”
