If you’re like me, then you plan for SHOT Show way before now. In fact, I’ve had my room reserved since last year. I’ve had a few people asking me if I’ll be at the show and where they’ll find me.
SHOT Show is the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s (NSSF) Shooting, Hunting, Outdoors Trade show. It’s held the third week in January every year, which means that those people who will be conflicting with the show next year should’ve checked their schedules, but I digress.
SHOT Show is the largest outdoor industry trade show. It’s held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Sands Convention Center. When people hear that it’s held in Vegas they smile and giggle, teasing about the partying that goes on, but I don’t party while I’m there. The show is key work time for me, and I assure you, those who party are likely to get the SHOT Show virus.
The show is where I meet with my current editors and publishers to plan my year’s work, plus try to pick up additional jobs. In between appointments I look for new products that fit my niche, which I can share in articles, blogs, and videos or ones that you’ve asked me about over the past year. The days are usually crammed with appointments from morning until I crash when the show closes at 5:30. One of the best things about the show is networking, and I always have to make time for that.
I’ll be at a few key networking events, so if you’d like to stop by and say hello, I’d like to visit with you. Let’s get a picture to share on social media.
SHOT Show – January 21 – 24 (All times listed below are in Pacific Standard Time)
There will be other events that I may or may not be able to squeeze in if my schedule shifts. I’ll share those on social media while I’m there. Either way, as I said it would be great to say hello. If nothing else, give me a big wave and smile if you see me among the sea of people in the miles of exhibit space.
Fun Fact: SHOT Show boasts to have more than 630,000 net square feet—equivalent to more than 13 acres, the area covered by the New Orleans Superdome or the base of the Great Pyramid of Giza. That means YOU are looking at nearly 13 miles of aisles—That’s about the distance of half a marathon. — Now you see why I say I crash when the show closes at the end of the day!
If you’re not going to be at this industry show but would like to see what cool things I find, be sure to follow me on social media. I’ll share as much as I can. Also, if there’s something you’ve been looking for, have questions about, or want me to share, let me know in the comments below or on social media.
