LADIES, SIGN UP FOR A WOMEN-ONLY CAST AND BLAST IN COLLBRAN
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Women interested in learning the basics of shotgun shooting and fly fishing are invited to attend Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s ‘Cast and Blast’ clinic in Collbran, Saturday, June 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The two-part class is designed for novices interested in learning about these popular outdoor activities and is open to women from across the state, however space is limited.
“Many ladies want to hunt or fish, but they don’t have a mentor,” said Kathleen Tadvick, education coordinator for Colorado Parks and Wildlife. “This class is perfect for them because it teaches the fundamentals of fly fishing and the safe use of shotguns in a comfortable environment.”
Tadvick adds that no experience or equipment is required and suggests to anyone planning to attend to bring a friend.
“Doing this with someone you know adds to the fun and enjoyment of the clinic,” adds Tadvick.
Cast and Blast, and similar programs are offered through Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Hunter Outreach program, including workshops, clinics, seminars and educational hunts that focus on teaching the skills, ethics and traditions of hunting to novice youth and women.
