Back in 2016, a famous photographer visited us near Durango, Co. to take pictures for an upcoming issue of Field & Stream magazine. Little did I know that his work, which included a picture of little ol’ me, would be featured on the cover of the August issue. Chris Crisman took a photograph of me, which placed me as the first American woman to be featured on the cover of the iconic outdoor magazine.
He and I have remained in touch over the years, and that’s because he’s been working on a book called ‘Women’s Work’ where he features successful women who are blazing trails in realms that are known to be “men’s jobs.”
This week I received my copy of the Chris’ Women’s Work project. It’s a beautiful bound hardcover, which features his amazing photography and the stories of many successful women.
I’m not sure how I continue to be blessed, but I do look at it as a blessing to be featured in a publication alongside company CEOs, company founders, officers, pilots and farmers. — I’m always thankful for the chance to make a difference to other women.
